MANILA, Philippines – The Organization of Property Stakeholders Inc. (TOPS), in partnership with the Land Registration Authority (LRA) will hold its 2nd TOPS-LRA Summit on Tuesday, July 28 2015 at the Fairmont Hotel in Makati City.
The aggrupation of groups and institutions involved in the properties sector will take stock of gains made in the past year and put in place new solutions to meet future challenges. With the theme of “Measuring Our Gains and Meeting the Challenges Ahead”, the Summit aims to develop action plans that will address common and pressing concerns in the real estate industry.
The one-day event will discuss various topics and developments in the real estate industry, from E titling and computerized land registration, to the industry’s economic growth and impact of natural disasters, climate change and eco-sustainability for the property sector.
On the agenda are discussions on Uniform Loan and Mortgage Agreement and the Movable Collateral Registry, eTitling, the Housing Industry Roadmap and the Multiplier Effect, the Impact of Climate Change and Natural disasters on the Property Sector and Prospects and Challenges in the Real Estate Industry, among others.
On top as keynote speakers are Secretary Arsenio Balisacan of the Socio-Economic and Planning Department and NEDA Executive Director and BSP Deputy Governor Nestor Espenilla. Other Speakers and panel discussionists/ discussants are Dr. Oscar Lizardo of Project Noah, Dr. Renato Solidum, Jr. of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, Commissioner Kim Jacinto-Henares of the Bureau of Internal Revenue, bankers, brokers, Subdivision and Housing Developers. LRA Administrator Hon. Eulalio C. Diaz III, other LRA officials and TOPS officials headed by president, Michael Jansen T. Abella, and Summit Chairman, Atty. Rodolfo B. Fernandez, will lead the discussions in the Summit. “LRA expects to further strengthen and improve the existing private-public coordination so that the real estate industry can grow further and meet the demands brought about by its rapid growth, not only by identifying the industry challenges but also by coming up with viable solutions to these challenges and for the improvement of existing policies, systems and processes,” says LRA Deputy Administrator Ronald A. Ortile.
“TOPS hopes to foster stronger partnership among our members and the LRA so we can effect constant improvements and sustainable progress in the ease of doing business with the LRA and its different Registers of Deed nationwide. These are key factors in the growth and development of the property sector of our country,” Fernandez added.
TOPS is a broad-based group of organizations including real estate developers and brokers, banks and other financial institutions, and government agencies involved in the multi-billion peso property sector. TOPS aims to develop coordination, cooperation and collaboration among its member organizations and the government for improvement in property registration processes and other matters involving real estate, chattel and other property transactions.
