We spent 2 nights at Raffles Makati as part of a larger South-East Asia itinerary, and the Raffles Makati surpassed the other luxury city properties we stayed at in every way. First, the hotel is rather small, so the staff knows you personally and greets you by name, which I always find very impressive. Second, there are no rooms, only Junior Suites and Suites, and these are very large, extremely comfortable and well appointed. Third, the service is excellent and very eager to make special requests happen. Fourth, the location in the middle of Makati is perfect - safe to walk around at night, many restaurants, malls and other hotels in the vicinity. We always went out for dinner - the Raffles/Fairmont complex only has one (buffet) restaurant, but apparently a second dining option is already in the works. We did enjoy the Long Bar in the lobby, which is modeled after the original at the Raffles Singapore, but not overcrowded with tourists.
